Moisturizer I swear by!

There are some people, when they wear moisturiser, they look like they own a couple of oil wells on their face. I am one of them. Most moisturizers make me break out, make my make up run or worse give me such a oily look that I shine like a bulb *sigh*
So for the longest time, I used baby cream on my face. It suited me to an extent and I couldn't find anything else. But that finally changed! I love Miracle perfume ok, the one by Lancome! So, when I bought it once, the kind sales lady gave me a ton of free travel size packs. (She probably looked at my face and thought I needed it). I saw those things, smiled and thought I'll use it when I travel (obviously they were travel sized packs!)

I was planning a trip so I took along with me the packs, and used the Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm. It says its some Gel creme hydratant. At this point in time I was in Kashmir, so my skin anyway behaves itself in colder climates. I didnt credit this Lancome Hydra en with too much thinking my skin is benefitting from the cooler clime. However, when I got back to Bombay and used it here, it just made me look the same (wel ok a little less) awesome! I was sooooooooo happy. Its very pricey. You'll pay in excess of Rs 3000 ($70 or GBP 48!) I know its huge but I use tiny and I mean tiny amounts of it. Its a gorgeous gorgeous formulation a perfect mix of gel and cream. It smells divine (atleast to me) I cant really describe the smell its perfect a little floral, little rich and lavish creamy (not fruity AT ALL) The colour is light pinkish translucent looking pretty colour (sad description I know!) It just gets absorbed into my skin and makes it glow! My skin looks fresh, moisturised and smells so nice too.

Can you imagine how happy I was when I read Kate Middleton (Her Royal Highness) used this on her wedding day! Yay - I will use it too.

Seriously this is a divine cream for those who want a moisturizer but cannot use it. Buy this, it'll last you months, its good money well invested!

Which is your fave moisturizer?

*Blush* with a little bit of help

Are you guys as in love with blushes as I am? I LOVEEEE blushes, and my love is more of an obsession. It's a deep, undying unfathomable (to others) love that I have. Infact on good skin days, I literally just wear some compact and blush and lip balm. When I wear kohl I look like I am sleep deprived - so its bye bye to kohl from me unless its a huge occassion.

Sonehow, blush has been like a part of my life. I shall explain this statement: My skin does tan but more than tan it burns. Very vry easily! So during school days when I had NO clue about skin care n sun screens, I used to have perpetual pink to rose coloured cheeks (admittedly they weren't always the contoured ones like blush but they looked pretty). Only negative point was it used to hurt me and my skin used to peel a bit and pain and prick me a lot! So I took huge treatments and cured myself. But everyone commented on how they missed seeing me with pink cheeks. And honestly I used to love the compliments I got earlier. :)

So began my quest for the most natural looking blusher! I can never have enough blushers actually, so here, I'll swatch and review a few. By the way the blushers I don't like are Lakme ones. I haven't tried their 'cheek artist' and once I do, I might have to eat my words, but until then, I know I really don't like their blushes. First off,  1)vthe colours are pretty unflattering atleast for me. Their colours are - I dont know - too orange or too brown and they look very unnatural.
2) The texture isnt too great. It's a powdery dusty texture which sort of doesn't last long.
3) The brushes SUCK! I know most of the blushes come with brushes which such. But in an emergency - for a touch up at least they work ok types. There brushes are so bad, you can probably scratch your dog's or cat's ears with them (serious animal abuse - dont consider it!)
4) I have checked out the blush trio and the three shades blend into one shade thats unflattering for all! I don't know anyone who would suit that blend. Unless you were appearing in the 'Raas Leela" (playwith garish make up compulsary)
5) Most of the pinks they have in their collection look (at least on me and a few friends and family I tried it on) as if someone slapped me. It doesnt give me the glowey gorgeous look, instead I look sort of bruised in it. Maybe it has blue undertones - I dont know!

Ok so now that I have ranted and vented against Lakme blushes - Oh yeah I want to do some more. I want to tell Lakme that 01 Compact doesnt suit ALL fair tones. Start making more shades we need them. Ewww!

Ok done! Now for my favourites:
1) The cheapie fave: Maybelline Expertwear blush in Berry Sorbet
Love love love this one. the brush is bad (*yawn* tell me something new) but the colour is pretty! Gives me the pretty look I like. Works well with Indian skin tones. Though it doesn't last tooooo long, it's not too bad either.

2) The High End Faves: MAC powder blusher in Dame and Cream blush in Posey
Two pretty different shades I agree but love them both. I wear them seasonally. My powder works well in summers (bcoz of my tan. Thank you Bombay!!!)The cream works well in other seasons.

3) Estee Lauder in Nude Rose
Lovely lovely shade. I an crazy for this one too. Lasts long, looks natural, gives a pretty look on your face. Blends into your other makeup extremely well.

4) Ultimate winners, I LOVE these
Cheek stains. I love cheek stains. They give me the naturalest look ever possible. In love with Benetint, and my cheapie fave is the Bourjois one in Rose Pixel or something. *Muwaah* you guys I love you two. I want to desperately try the Body Shop ones.

I dont have the NARS or the other blushes. I have a few more of Maybelline, but I'll comment on those later. And swatches coming up sooon. :)

In search of the PERFECT face scrub

Hey!
I have been on the hunt for the perfect face scrub for ages! Do you guys have any special ones that you love?

I, for one started out by trying the regular St Ives one. I tried nearly all the variants in this line, but my skin kept breaking out. So although I know friends who looooove the St Ives scrubs, I always buy them, try them and since my skin breaks out, I use them on my feet! Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the scrubs. Its just my skin maybe.....

Next I tried the Everyuth scrubs which were ummm terrible! the granulated walnut one is sooooooo granulated it feels like someone's using steel wires over your face. *Shudder* The mild one's so mild, it doesn't feel like anything at all. So this was another failed attempt.

Then came the Himalaya one which wasn't bad but I didn't like it either! There wasn't any MAJOR negative in this scrub, but I just didn't like the texture and the feel of it. And the smell. *eww*

Till date, I have liked the Clarins scrub. Its pricey, but nice. My skin feels really smooth and pretty once I have used it. But the award goes to:

The Forest Essentials one! The lady at the counter told me that I have to use a cream and then use the scrub (both from forest essentials) Once you do this, your skin looks OMG! Lovely glowey, dewy and just baby soft. In love with this set currently. I used the Hand pounded fruit scrub. It doesn't look too great honestly, its a dark maroon to brown shade which not many people would like to use on their face. But really, its not like you need to apply it and go anywhere! Use it once a week or even lesser at times (I just gauge on my own, I don't use it too often)  I am in LOVE with this one. Its gorgeous, and it feels so luxurious! I feel like a princess when I slather it on my face. It smells good too. I would probably lick it a bit because it has yum ingredients! But all in all this is my current PERFECT scrub! I love it! In fact since I raved about it so much right now I feel like scrubbing my face with it.

Its a little pricey at nearly Rs 1000, but it lasts for ages. You don't need to buy refills every month or so. My jar has lasted my for nearly 2 and a half months. Plus, if you use this and maintain your skin well, you won't need to go for too many facials or clean ups. That's the best part about the Forest Essentials range. (I don't have too many products of theirs but I love whatever I have) Try this scrub if you've never tried it before and I assure you, it'll be love at first swipe ;) thumbs up to Forest Essentials!

Which is your favourite scrub?

My First Review!

Hey all lovely Ladies,
I come to you today with a review! Also would love to show a new purse I bought :) I am going to review the Maybelline EYESTUDIO Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. This is the (only?) gel eyeliner in the drugstore category available in India currently. The other high end brands obviously have them, but this one's the cheapest priced at Rs. 375 ($8 or GBP 5)

This is a weird post coming from me, because I am hopeless at wearing eye liner! My eye liner skills include staring at the mirror for the longest time with the brush in my hand, trying to apply it, coming up with Panda eyes, washing my face and re-doing make up skipping the liner!

But when I got my paws on this one - I thought my life would change! Alas it didnt :( Its a pretty good liner but nothing very different from what others are. The brush that comes with it is a little clumsy to hold and goopy! The girl at the counter where I bought it told me that I NEVER need to clean the brush. Honestly! So I tried to wipe the brush after the first and second use, but somehow the brush isn't too amazing. Finally I cleant it with baby oil!

The consistency of the gel is OK. Its not as great as the high end gel liners but then again its the cheap one. The pigmentation is pretty great! Its dark n nice and I love the colour against my skin (Kashmiri Indian fair)

All in all an OK product. Go for it if you want to try a gel liner or practice putting it. Here are some pictures

This is what the packaging looks like. Forgive my pictures, I am new to this :)

The pot with the (hard n goopy) brush on the side. Honestly - after I cleant the brush, it became a lot softer n nicer

I know it's blurred. But I couldnt get a better shot :(

Next up is this bag I got in a lovely Taupe colour. I am loving it. Muaah to my bag

I am really sorry about the terrible pictures I have been taking. I'll improve soon hopefully
My bag is priced at Rs. 2100, ($50, GBP 30 approx). Its a cheap one but looks nice I thought. What do you guys think?

Loads of love you guys xoxoxoxo
